Is Fuck ethanol one of the things that everyone on the board can agree upon? It seems like it might have the power to unite us.

Indeed. Fuck Ethanol with a rusty fork.

It wreaks havoc on small engines. And in the north, where you store your lawn mower for six months and your snow blower for six months, do not dare put either away with gas in the tank.

Just bought my first lawnmower. So this is good advice I didn't know about. Thanks!

Yup. When you get to those last mows of the season in September or October, only put in the gas you'll need, then run it till the rest of it burns out. I just did that with my snowblower a few weeks ago.

Before I broke my power lawnmower by basically beating the piss out of it, I always used premium gas in it. In most towns around me, I can find premium that doesn't contain ethanol (or so they say).

Now I mow with a Scotts push mower. It takes a bit longer than it took with the power mower.

  7. Update:
    Bought gas last week E85.
It was 50 cents cheaper than 87Octane. ($2.68 vs. $2.08)

Gas mileage dropped to 14.3 miles, compared to 18.1 mph.
