I only read the theater and classical music stories.

All this fuss about long-form, short-form, tweet-form, form-fitting underwear ... seems like I've found the answer to what comes after post-modern: the era of Whine, Cheese & Decadence (no relation to you, Decadence). We are so bored with ourselves as a species that we gurgle over the literary relevance of 140 characters, 3400 words, or the magnum opus by the broadcasters of such things, which is everyone. You and Me and He and She, and You.

Gary Smith is retiring. Pretty soon he's going to have a cold, too.

I'm old enough to remember when people said they only watched PBS.

I still do, primarily for Charlie Rose and Frontline. Is the Jayson Blair doc airing tonight?

I really like WNET's top-of-the-hour ID/sounder. It is much shorter, but reminds me of the old WOR-TV sounder that used the ramp of one of Slim Whitman's tunes.

No way. Gary is too young to retire. Best wishes and you will be missed.
