    Well, the company's not going $12 billion in debt to give this guy a seat on the board. So the only real harm he can do is if the idea falls flat and shareholders are left regretting that a Gannett deal was not struck.

    Lagos is the largest city in Africa and home to the Nigerian film industry, which is pretty big, drawing comparisons to Bollywood. It's not sophisticated, but it pumps out a lot of product.

    This is starting to become nearly as much of a circus as the Zell era (minus the bankruptcy proceedings, so far).

    Throw in a lot of profane language, some raunchy parties and a few rambling, incoherent "think pieces" from Lee Abrams, and it's just like old times.
