I know this thread will likely die quickly, but does anyone have any positive Gannett stories?

I always got my stringer money in a timely fashion from the Idaho Statesman when it was a Gannett paper.

    That work?

Someday the people who created that monster will die and turn into mulch.

Worked for a Gannett paper for many years, then it was sold, and it was not better. Not even close.

I've worked for five chains in my career, and Gannett was, at worst, the second best.

They're not even in the same subterranean subdivision of infernal, flame-blasted hell as the two worst. Anybody who thinks Gannett is the "absolute worst" newspaper chain is simply uneducated. Or lucky.

    Ditto. Absolute ditto.

There are far worse situations than to be a Gannettoid.

It gets a much worse rap than it deserves.
There are some things I don't like about it, but that's true of any employer-employee situation.
