I went into an edit-bay to pick out sound bites for a story tonight.... it was 1-0 at '78 ... I come back... and it's 3-0.

I popped it on right before the second goal. Let’s just say that Bremen wasn’t exactly defending well.

 

My soccer-playing son has noticed, in Bundesliga, an unusually high number of goals in "extra time" (first half and second half). His theory is that the better teams are going for margin and that less-talented teams are far more likely to give up late in games.

 

I think that teams aren’t in that good of a shape given the layoff and the fact that the ball is in play a decent amount more without fans. The third goal was definitely a lack of defensive effort.

 

I'd have to look up the scores since Bundesliga came back and see how many games have gone over.

37 games since May 16...118 goals. That's 3.19 per game.

 

I signed up for TVG horse racing about 3 weeks ago. I am finding betting on the ponies to be a shockingly adequate substitute for sports gambling.

I started with $150, now have $411. I made my bones just betting Flavian Plat as the jockey in Santa Anita. A couple sundays ago, he was 5 for 5 in winners (then lost last race). That was a good day.

 

NASCAR is horse racing with engines.

The one time I went to the track, it didn't take me long to figure out that trick. Find out who the best jockey is at the track and bet the hell out of them.

 

Of course. You always bet the jockeys, never the horses. But the odds are never great on the best jockeys.
