Sorry to be an asshole, Chef, but that is a comically piss poor list of selections. Hacks like Leno and Lampanelli instead of guys like Chris Rock, Louis C.K., Ansiz Ansari, etc.? Seriously?

Worst list ever. Doesn't even have a proper question mark. Louis C.K. is doing the funniest work of the mainstream comedians I have seen lately. The ghost of Patrice O'Neal is funnier than those guys. (Minus Jerry Seinfeld, for whom I voted.)

    Seriously - Don Rickles

Still laugh like hell about the time he was on Larry King and he starts riffing on Sinatra and Larry takes a call from Palm Springs and it's Frank.

    "Hello, Don."

"God, Larry, don't you screen the calls here??? I'm a dead man!!!"

That list is so dumb, it takes two hours to watch an episode of 60 minutes.

Good choice, and probably the most underrated one. Didn't know the first thing about this guy until recently stumbling across him on comedy central, then wondered why he wasn't a bigger name. Very funny.

My fave is Eddie Izzard - his stuff is not only hilarious and smart, but it's unique. Nobody out there doing anything remotely like his act.

Louis C.K. And Patton Oswalt are 1A and 1B for my tastes.

Although Patton's Ham Suicide bit may move him into the A position for me. "I want all the ham" made me laugh the hardest I've ever laughed.

    Now?
Not Seinfeld - he went from a guy who could do a bit about the most arcane thing to doing the most stale, cliched type of humor. "Aren't kids funny?"
Not Letterman - he's in full grumpy old guy mode now.

Hell, I keep waiting for a new stand-up to emerge like they did in the '80s - to me Stewart and Colbert are at the top of the game (of course most credit should go to their staffs). Colbert especially for the ability to make you laugh, marvel at his various premises and think about what it means.
His set at the WHCD still kills me, the guy is fearless.
