Fun baseball player name-of-the-day

    Covering a high school baseball tournament in Texas. Kid just grounded out. His name: Phyre (pronounced Fire) Burns.

    Even better is some Rangers pitcher whose name I don't know or remember. Anyway, there was a clip on SI.com this morning of him being interviewed on MLB.com. He said his teammates gave him the nickname Dutch Oven. He seemed ignorant to its meaning and said it was a great nickname. Pretty funny.

    Dutch Oven is Derek Holland's nickname. Supposedly a play on his last name. Uh huh.

    On a somewhat related note: When doing a hand shake with Justin Smoak, I notice a few of the players do a little gesture at the end too.
