Danny's a super guy and anyone who can read that story without feeling serious envy is a far, far better person than myself.

Danny, like me, worked for SF Express, aka Craig Stanke
He is a great guy and I’m happy for him

Danny's brother Mike, like Danny a very good guy, also got out of the business. A lawyer now.

I've known Danny for 40 years, since he came into our paper seeking stringer work when he was still in high school. Always enjoyed bumping into him. He was a year ahead of LAT national baseball writer Bill Shaikin from the same high school.
At one NCAA regional, an SID took a bunch of us to dinner. I introduced myself to the guy I was sitting next to. It was Mike, best known as the only Harvard grad covering college basketball in Mississippi. We grew up about 5 miles apart.
