Sorry, TBF... but I laughed at that post -- with you, of course, if you had a sense of humor about this...

 

Oh, it's funny. No shit.

I'd laugh more, but smiling makes it hurt. I sort of look like Frankenstein, with strings hanging out of my lip.

Mrs. t_b_f made some joke about stitching the rest of my mouth shut. Hmph.

 

Yeah, family can be great that way.

You might have to drink some whiskey, just to keep things sterilized.

 

Yeah, a big ol' shot of Jack will feel reeel guuud on that open lip..

 

First shot might be rough, but it'll pave the way for all subsequent shots. Life's about planning, slap.

Feel for you tbf, just now starting to get back to 100 percent after back surgery.
Walked with a cane and a hefty habit of oxy (two months) and lortabs (four months) that I have just kicked.
Oh yes, the withdrawls suck! But being able to walk again and not have to pop 10 pills a day to function at work is worth all the battle.

Weekend went really well, until about 30 minutes ago, when I got out of the shower and realized one of the stitches had come loose.

Damnit.

It's the bottom of three stitches, and there's a tiny gap near the bottom of the incision.

Just called the doctor's answering service.

Edit to add: Just talked to the on-call nurse. "Don't worry about it. Stitches are hard to keep in the lip."

Fuck you very much, ma'am. This hurts like hell.

FML.
