When your team is 0-5 you create a diversion and attack the media. Too bad we gave the guy howitzers with which to do it.

He should be writing about who should be the next coach of the Irish and how they are going to scratch together the cash or find the incriminating photos to get rid of Charlie Weis.

What's missing in this is that the press conference dynamic -- gladly adopted by teams, especially football teams, in the face of an exploding media faction -- is not going to produce much real information for anyone involved.
So the media's choice is either to use the press conference to create "entertainment value" -- that is, by provoking the coach -- or just sit there and learn almost nothing.
Those coaches who find a way to provide access and true insight still are going to win with the media most of the time.

Not quite accurate. He's not "paid by the team", as I don't believe BGI has a direct affiliation with the University, instead its a separate private publication focused on Notre Dame football.

And its not like he's the only "alleged" journalist writing for a publication with a pre-existing bias, whether it be sports, political, or whatever. Hell, to some extent, most do. This guy's just happens to be more pronounced with its bias worn on its sleeve. That might diminish his credibility, but doesn't automatically discount his right to be called a journalist. His credentials as a journalist should be judged by the content of his work, not the name of his employer.

My favorite sentence from this piece of shit has to be the following:

Did Scoop Jackson invade his copy?

And the content of his work here? Well ..

Ok...by the content of this example of his work, his credentials as a journalist suck. He's a fanboy. He has some writing ability, but he's still a fanboy.

Anyone who says journalism school is the equivalent of breast implants is, to me, not a journalist and clearly doesn't have respect for the profession.

Notre Dame is a polarizing institution - people either love it or hate it. To handle writing for a website that focuses solely on Notre Dame would mean that person would have to love it. Otherwise you'd want to blow your brains out on the second day.

The cool thing to do right now is rip on the media in light of the Gundy situation. This guy is just jumping on that bandwagon.

And with that handle, I'm sure you are completely unbiased on this subject, ara.

You neglected to quote the second part of that statement: OTHERWISE YOU'D WANT TO BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT BY THE SECOND DAY.
