The Round Rock Leader, a thrice-weekly Cox paper, is looking for reliable freelancers. There is some deadline work involved (Friday nights), and plenty of other opportunities available as well that have more lead-time. Our most pressing area that we are looking to fill right now is Friday night football/volleyball stringers. There are, however, plenty of opportunities to cover everything from your pedestrian cross-country and other high school sports -- to University of Texas football, basketball and especially baseball. We also provide strong beat coverage of the Round Rock Express (Astros Triple-A affiliate, the Austin Ice Bats, Austin Wranglers football and just about anything else we feel might be interesting to our readers at the time (We provided coverage of both Dallas and Houston football camps this summer). We won't make you rich but we're also not the cheapest, when it comes to pay, hombres out here. Those interested should drop me a line at jgarrett@rrleader.com
