Freelancer Needed For June 4 U.S. Open Sectional Qualifer In Oregon

    The USGA is seeking a freelance writer in Oregon to cover the June 4 U.S. Open sectional qualifier at Emerald Valley G.C. in Creswell. This is a 36-hole qualifier and the freelancer would be needed the entire day to provide updates to be used on the USGA's Twitter and Facebook pages. The writer would also be responsible for filing a 500-700-word wrap-up story. Emerald Valley G.C. is located just south of Eugene.

    Qualifiers from this sectional will advance to the 2012 U.S. Open June 14-17 at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. The number of qualifiers won't be determined until after local qualifying concludes on May 17.

    The USGA is offering $400 for the coverage/story. The compensation includes any travel requirements.
