    Herb White mentioned the Carolina Panthers, then a pair Charlotte-area schools playing college football in the Charlotte 49ers (don't call them "UNC Charlotte") and Johnson C. Smith University, an HBCU in the city. Then the high schools.

    Herb knows what he's doing. Used to "edit" his copy ... word in quotes because his copy was clean, always on time and knew what he was doing. Wasn't much to do with his pieces.
