Freelance pitches

    I wouldn't worry about that -- you can just work your way down the pitching scale, so to speak -- eventually someone will take it (probably), even if it's just the zoned edition of whatever the major daily is in the area.

    Well, I got a response a couple of weeks ago from a regional/city magazine that they were interested, but the sports editor needed to take it to his higher-ups. He asked for some clips from me, but I haven't heard from him since. Things might go slowly, though, because he said he saw it as a November piece. Keeping my fingers crossed.
