FOX Sports North/FOX Sports Wisconsin is looking for a freelance digital content assistant (DCA) to work in our Minneapolis office. This job will be roughly 40 hours a week. Working nights/weekends/holidays a must (hey, as you know, that's when a lot of the games are played).

The DCA's responsibilities include updating both of our websites, cutting highlights and interviews, coordinating stories, writing headlines, revising content, designing graphics, streaming live videos and assisting with coverage of live events both remotely and on site.

In addition, aggregating and publishing video content to multiple digital platforms including the websites, social media and YouTube channels. There's also opportunities to write articles and offer ideas for content.

Candidates should have strong digital technological skills as well as communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as familiarity with Minnesota- and Wisconsin-based sports teams. Knowledge of video editing systems (Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects), social media trends, experience with Photoshop, SnappyTV, Wildmoka, HTML and web design is a plus. Experience with AP style is a plus, but not required. Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work with a diverse group of people. Must be able to handle a large number of variables in the daily news workflow, including short deadlines.

This is a great opportunity for someone trying to break into the business, or looking to complement hours of another part-time job, as you get experience in a variety of skills and entry-level candidates and/or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Please send resumes to Dave Heller (dave DOT heller AT foxsports DOT net) or email with any questions.

Gotta love 40-hour per week contract jobs.

Who needs pesky things like health benefits and paid vacation?

If it is freelance, it is not a job.

    If it’s freelance and it’s 40 hours a week then that’s illegal?
