FOX Sports North/FOX Sports Wisconsin is looking for a freelance digital content assistant (DCA) to work in our Minneapolis office. This job will be roughly 40 hours a week. Working nights/weekends a must (hey, as you know, that's when a lot of the games are played).

The DCA's responsibilities include updating both of our websites, coordinating stories, writing headlines, revising content, writing articles, offering ideas for content and assigning projects as necessary. In addition, aggregating and publishing video content to multiple digital platforms including the websites, social media and YouTube channels.

Candidates should have strong digital technological skills as well as communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of video editing systems (Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere), social media trends, experience with Photoshop, HTML and web design is a plus. Experience with AP style is a plus, but not required. Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work with a diverse group of people. Must be able to handle a large number of variables in the daily news workflow, including short deadlines.

This is a great opportunity for someone trying to break into the business as you get experience in a variety of skills and entry-level candidates or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Please send resumes to Dave Heller (dave DOT heller AT foxsports DOT net) or email with any questions.

Freelance? Are there set hours? Where you have to go into an office? And Fox is supplying the equipment? I'm not a lawyer, but sounds like an employment situation to me, not freelance.
