I don't know why you need to name call, here, boots.

I was honestly trying to help.

It's a misused word. There's no shame in making the mistake.

Next up from Zeke: Proper use of the word "myriad."

As in: There are myriad reasons why boots is so awesome.

    Myriad is often misused.

People assume it takes the "of," which is, in fact, superfluous.

Can you call the SportsJournalists.com Department of Redundancy Department? They had the dictionary last time I checked.

    Hank Scorpio.

  9. No one needs to explain irony to boots. They grew up playing pickup basketball together at the Y. Irony used to come over for supper. And Boots would tell you that Irony has certainly come a long way from the days when he used to confuse himself with coincidence.

I have ignored you, your pals good docor, and Hank. You want to get this thread locked? Go ahead. You are on the right path.
Now, it's your turn to post something that will make you look childish. I'm waiting.

    Actually, this is also incorrect.

    The definition of superfluous is:

    su·per·flu·ous /sʊˈpɜrfluəs/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[soo-pur-floo-uhs] Pronunciation
    –adjective
    1. being more than is sufficient or required; excessive.
    2. unnecessary or needless.
    3. Obsolete. possessing or spending more than enough or necessary; extravagant.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Origin: 1400–50; late ME < L superfluus, equiv. to super- super- + flu- (s. of fluere to flow) + -us -ous]

    —Related forms
    su·per·flu·ous·ly, adverb
    su·per·flu·ous·ness, noun

    —Synonyms 1. extra; redundant.

Hank Scorpio was a one-episode character on the television program The Simpsons, so while he might be said to be ancillary to the show as a whole, he was, in fact, integral in that episode and thus, by definition, not superfluous.

  12. Chill out with a free Slurpee, Boots. We're just bustin' balls here.
