You overestimate the majority of the country.

FACT: He can't even get a majority of his own party, and one of his biggest support groups in his mayoral days (the FDNY rank and file) has abandoned him.

Done. Finished. Complete. Over. And thanks for all the fish.

Maybe Fred really didn't do any work for that group but billed them $5,000 anyway. Would that make everything all right?

He can very easily win a general election.

He cannot win a Republican primary.

Romney is the GOP nominee. Book it.

And he might not win his home state in the general.

Romney could get CRUSHED in the general, depending on who the Democratic nominee is.

Would Rudy win his home state (with its shitload of electoral votes)? Probably not.

Virtually everyone in the Republican primary would get toasted in the general. The only hope they have is someone else coming in, because if Fred Thompson was supposed to be your savior, you're screwed. and that was before this abortion stuff came out.

Here's a question: Who can win?
All of the Republicans and the Democrats have issues: Thompson, Romney and Edwards are all lightweights, McCain is done, Hillary is too polarizing, Rudy is too liberal to win the GOP nomination and too much of a dictator to win the general and I don't think people are ready to elect Obama (although I hope and pray that I'm wrong). And you look at who is waiting in the wings: Gingrich and Gore, who are both as polarizing as Hillary.

They all suck. Where's Eugene V. Debs and Mother Jones when you really need them? Oh, they're dead. Never mind...

Angelina Jolie for President. Our standing with other countries immediately skyrockets.
