Wow ... sort of like Bill and Hillary Clinton being liberal when it suits their needs and moving to the center or even the right when it suits their needs.

Politicians being opportunistic ... what a revelation.

Dag gummit, this presidenting is harder than it looks, Jack. What do you think Adam woulda done? Wasn't he always advocating we make the deal?

Honestly, I think he scores major points with old school conservatives who've seen the term hijacked by these neo-cons in conservative drag.

Good point, since "spin" seems to be defined by our board lefties as something only Republicans do.

So...no billing records or other actual proof, but a member of an anti-abortion group -- who would have no reason at all to try to damage a Republican presidential candidate -- says she's sure it happened. And the minutes say that person said she had done it 16 years ago, though nothing apparently came of it.

    I'm sold!

McCain, once violated, caved, on the presumption that '08 would be "his turn."

    Crappy calculation there, John.

Of course, since he stopped being his own man, and began witlessly sucking up to nitwits like Jerry (RIP) and Pat, it was all downhill, from there . . .

And today's NYT jumps on my previously-established observation regarding Lobbyin' Fred's trophy wife.

Lotsa luck selling THAT, north of Nashville.

Hard work? Akin to fund-raising, maybe. Telling the truth, having constructive ideas, no.

BTW, anyone want to reconcile Che's commentary on the tragedy of the Scooter Libby pardon with her comment just days before that non-violent crimes should not receive much jail time if any?
