I dvr'd last night's sportscenter-type show and watched it this morning. It sucks.

One of the Canadian cohosts has a helmet of hair that has to be seen to be believed. It is distracting.
The actual highlights are on probably half your screen because they have scrolls of sports news on the bottom and the right side. That sucks.
They stopped the highlights 10 minutes in to have "debate" about the hot topic of the day, featuring ex-athletes. I didn't know America was clamoring for hot sports takes from Donovan McNabb and Gabe Kapler, but apparently we are.
I fast forwarded through the Mike Tyson interview. I could not care less about that overexposed Vegas lounge act.
The show did not impress me in the least.

I guess it is just not possible to get a good sports highlights show. In my lifetime, I've seen it done well twice: The 1988-era NFL Primetime with Berman (yes, I said Berman - it was a different era, and he wasn't the blowhard caricature he's been now for decades), Tom Jackson, and Pete Axhelm. The other is the NFL Network Sunday Night show with Rich Eisen, Mooch and Deion Sanders.

Not necessarily a highlight show but NFL RedZone does the trick

Checked it out over the weekend... liked what I saw.

On its launch Saturday night FSL led with Braves-Nationals (Strasburg ejection for throwing at Andrelton Simmons), so that was a fairly strong newsy item of the day.

Sportscenter leads with PRESEASON football. Yes, Denver-Seattle is a decent matchup, but I'd never lead a show with preseason football unless it was a local market. And yes, I am a baseball fan, but same thing applies IMHO... it's exhibition and not news unless a major injury occurs.

Both shows were decent. Sportscenter's "My Wish" series debuted Saturday and that's something FSL doesn't have in its corner yet.

Oh, and here FS One is channel 731. Have fun surfing through the grid to find it. lol

"Let's go now to hear Andy Roddick's thoughts on Week three of NFL Preseason! Also, boobs!"

Boobs - I wish. I see several people keep writing that, I guess its a new meme. In the hour of their Sportscenter type show, I didn't see any more skin than on the MLB network, NFL Network, or ESPN.

Which FS1 show has the boobs?

Boxer's face super-slo-mo'd during fight last night. Complete, utter devastation.
