ESPN said the Cowboys got a fifth rounder for this, looks like they paid extra for the dumbass warranty?

it's in the fourth graph from the bottom: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3643240

And the Cowboys last won a playoff game when?

They were wanting to get rid of him anyway, that's why the "extended anti-dumbass warranty" was agreed upon. Besides, the fifth this year was the second pick included in the trade. It just gets returned.

  4. A lot sooner than many other teams in the league. And I would hardly put that fault on Jones.

Why not? He runs the whole show. The bucks come from--and stop--with him.

Teams that haven't won a playoff game since 1996:

    Bills
    Browns (didn't exist)
Bengals (may as well not have existed)
    Texans (didn't exist)
    Chiefs
    Cowboys
Lions (may as well not have existed)

    Pretty damning.

  6. Jones doesn't call the plays. He doesn't run the ball. He doesn't pass the ball.

He watches. He parties. He critiques. He makes decisions, but he has no personal impact on the game.

THREE SUPER BOWLS (well five total, but three under Jerry). THREE SUPER BOWLS. As much as I hate much of what Jerry has one, the bottom line is that three Super Bowls allow you to do whatever you want. Disagree? Great. But bring your Lombardi trophies to the meeting. It's like having the biggest gun.

Read "Boys will be Boys." Jones hasn't done jack squat since he started picking the players. Yes, he has the trophies, but the youngest of 'em are 13. Jones fancies himself a football guy when, in fact, all he should do is write the checks, kick back and pop open a nice frosty can of Mind Your Own Fucking Business. His need to have his ego placated and to be more than he's capable of has led to the long dry spell and it isn't going to end until he gets the hell out of the way.

Jerry does a lot of stuff well. Just leave the talent evaluation to someone else and the ethics at the door.

Only if by "no personal impact on the game," you're ignoring his role in drafting rookies and signing free agents.
