I just peed my pants when I typed in the request to ticketmaster. This is for the fourth game at the new Yankee Stadium. Sunday against the Indians. I typed in "best available" and it spit back four seats that cost $2625 per ticket. The "CONVENIENCE CHARGE" per ticket is $59.70 (really, why not just make it a nice even $60 for how convenient they are making it for me to spend $2625 per ticket to watch a regular season baseball game?). Then they charge for delivery, too. Total cost for four tickets to a regular season game in this premium section: nearly $10,750. How are the Indians looking this year? Is it worth taking out a mortgage for nine innings of Travis Hafner? Would it be beyond reason to demand a happy ending during the seventh inning stretch?

Just console yourself with the knowledge that they have four of those seats together, less than a month before the game. That probably wasn't in the plan.

Sell your soul. That'll cover at least two of 'em.

Maybe a limb and the first-born child will cover the other two.

    That or beer and hookers.

    I wouldn't pay $26.25 apiece for them.

The beauty of this is if I want to rob a bank it looks like I can spend $10,750 for four tix to every Yankee game this season. Blue Jays in early July? No problem. A weeknight game against the Rangers in late August? Sell my car and I might be able to see Vincente Padilla go 5 innings.

    Beyond ludicrous.

    Pray they get off badly.

So, no SportsJournalists.com outing to a Yankees game this season?
