    It's play on a Don Quixote quote (and everyone read that in high school), that was used as a movie title, that was used as a band name. Regardless of the reader's exact frame of reference and whether he or she know it referred to a bunch of windmills, they should have heard the phrase "They might be giants" before. But as with any good allusion, it works either way.
