    for what it's worth, i've got great respect for the s-s. their heat writer, ira, has covered the team since the dawn of time and knows the nba as well as anyone, from what i can tell. dave hyde is amazing, and i think ethan skolnick has some fresh ideas and executes his enterprise work well.

    Update:

    One of our game's truly nice people, Mack Browning, got the assistant sports editor gig last week.

    Spot on. I worked with Mack in Tampa, and a nicer guy you will never find. Congrats to him ... he'll do a great job.
