    during the game they fry spuds up in the concession. while you're on the field playing the game you can smell the fries and the tots and know when it's time to pull them out of the oil. it's kind of weird, actually.

    I see your Spudders and raise you the Camas Papermakers, the Ilwaco Fishermen and the Pateros Billygoats -- which isn't itself that funny, except that they call the girls' teams the Nannygoats.

    I once covered a HS football game at Camas, and they were so pathetic one of the linemen actually had one of his arms plastered to his torso with ace bandages, as if he were wearing a sling. I mean, how horrible is your backup when you'd rather let your injured starter play with one arm?
