Whoa. He quarterbacked in the first NFL game I attended.

It was a titanic David Whitehurst vs. Jeff Komlo battle royale at County Stadium in '79, I'm sure you all remember it. ::)

Martin Mayhew scratches another name off his list of "seasoned, experienced veterans" he could bring in to "mentor" Daunte Culpepper.

Fret not. Bill Munson, Gary Danielson, Greg Landry, and, of course, Eric Hipple, are still on the list.

Man, I actually remember both Komlo and Eric Hipple. I feel old now.

Any possibility that he was dead before the car crash?
