You wish death on a lot of people, that's for damn sure.
    Why so bitter, Herb?

So, are there any decent black golfers on tour? Men or women?

I ask this because the Tiger effect seems to not have happened.

Tony Finau comes to mind. And Tiger has a niece who is I think a thing on the LPGA Tour, but probably mostly because she's Tiger's niece.

Cameron Champ is currently in 8th place, 6 shots back, and has won multiple times in the last couple of years. Just because one person of African descent is tremendous doesn't mean there will be an immediate surge. There needs to be nurturing and access to facilities as well.

I don't think Tony is black.

But there was a huge push to bring golf to the children of the city, right?

    I dug this up...
When it comes to making golf more diverse, it's time for a new approach

Ask him in ten years when it is all he can do to put his shoes on.

I stand corrected, though I imagine he's also black enough for the Augusta National membership to notice.

Sucks for Scott, known him for years, did some golf for me when I was SE in D.C. I hope he's OK.

Thoughtful article brings specifics to what I raised, more nurturing and access for blacks. The side-eyes and micro-aggressions in the pro shop of the high end semi-private or country club? Yeah happens to people of color more than those in the majority and its got a real effect; makes you consider doing something else.

I think the larger message is look at the whole infrastructure of the game of golf and look at where are the opportunities to be more inclusive. (I'm not a big fan of re-energizing caddying just as a grass-roots starter; I think you can reallocate those funds to more group lessons or municipal facilities.)
