Don’t kid yourself. It will still be all Tiger all the time.

Which his why Nantz bitching about Koepka's media coverage rings hollow.

    As it should be.

With Frank Chirkinian dead, Nantz is probably the biggest swinging dick within CBS's golf coverage. If he wanted the focus on other players I'm guessing he could speak up and say something.

Even if Koepka wins by eight shots? No way.

People want to watch Tiger. It’s not that complicated.

That's great if he's at or near the top. But what if he tees off Sunday in 31st place? Or gasp, misses the cut? Pushing Tiger at the expense of all the other competitors is bad marketing for the sport.

They may want to watch him win, but not finish down at least eight strokes. Golf got a bit of a reprieve with this Tiger resurgence. They’d best play their cards right for when he runs out of comebacks.

Because of the new accelerated majors schedule, Woods will be in fewer tournaments from April through July, and of course he skips the start of the wraparound season. So through management of his own schedule to focus on the majors, he will cut down on overexposure.

When he has not been near the top the leaderboard, he gets a lot of screen time early before they focus on the leaders. That’s true to a lesser extent for both Jordan, Phil and Rory. It’s not like the don’t show the last 6 holes of the leaders so they can do a shot by shot of his round. Objectively fair or not, he is the only golfer that a lot of viewers care about and the networks would be foolish not to play that up.

That's fine. Come Thursday, he's the biggest story out there by far. After Thursday, the scoreboard says who's the big story.

It'll be interesting to see how quickly Woods can ramp it up after a month off. If he's loose off the tee the first two days, he'll be in trouble in a hurry.

But yeah, coming of the Masters, he will be, and should be, the big story Tuesday-Thursday. We'll see after that.

I'm sure there will be a bit of John Daly cart coverage, unless they really want to downplay that on the broadcast.
