For what do you marvel at humankind?

I know there are so many instances where humankind makes us shake our head and weep for the future, but there also times where we can say "wow" and be amazed at the accomplishments of man/woman. What amazes you about humankind? Is it a building, an accomplishment or what?

I must say I was genuinely amazed when I actually stood to watch a helicopter take off. I am equally as amazed when I walk down the streets of a major metro city and take a look upwards at the skyscrapers. Man has come a long way since the pyramids.

    What are yours?

I had one as a pet many years ago. He was a beauty. He ate a small pot bud one time.

I marvel at the concept of air travel, then marvel at the clusterfuck that is commercial aviation.

Air travel truly is an amazing thing. The Wright Brothers would not believe their eyes if they were alive today. We have come a long way since row boats as a form of travel.

Computers and microtech, in a good way. Hundreds of decades of unabated prejudice, in a bad way.

How one police car sitting on the other side of the median on the interstate with its lights on can back up traffic for miles.
