    Ok, I'll add this disclaimer:
I am a little biased as I know Dave, work with him during the fall and we are friends.
That said, I think it's a great hire and I hope those who listen to Mariners broadcasts on a regular basis agree.

He should be an improvement over Ron "Master of the Obvious" Fairly.

Agreed. Fairly was so annoying to listen to growing up he almost caused me to quit being a baseball fan.

Did Sims edge out the Aflac duck, for whom Dave has maintained a disturbingly enthusastic welcome cry in the gloaming?

    Good hire, seriously.

Dave Sims does great work when doing the ESPN+ Big East football games.
    Good pipes.

Let's hope he does a better job than DN of telling his radio listeners the score more than once every 20 minutes.

DN has had some great moments, but I think it may be getting to the time for him to hang it up. Listening to him call Richie Sexson "Big Sexy" last year creeped me out just a little.

Every time he sees it, it probably seems like the first time.

I thought maybe the original post in this thread was going to try and figure out who voted for Jay Buhner in the Hall of Fame.
