For the beer drinkers - how many of these have you done?

I've done seven of them, I need to drink more. Some of them I've sort of done, but didn't count.

No. 36 is my next priority. My wife was talking tonight about doing No. 38. Perhaps Jones can hire her at his bar, she won't take shit off no one.

Well, for Hong Kong Jones that could be a problem.

    1) Open and close a bar.
    2) Go on a bender -- Oh yes, I've certainly done this. In fact, mine have been somewhat legendary in my circle (as in, how the fuck is he alive right now, much less dancing like a buffoon?)

    4) Dance like a fool in front of a large hooting crowd -- see above.

8 ) Embark on an impromptu road trip -- not proud of this one, but the casino was calling.

    9) Get 86'd from a bar -- SORT OF. It was complete bullshit, too. We'd literally had two drinks each. Apparently, the waitress thought we were drunk. After haggling with the manager for 20 minutes, she agreed we were clearly not drunk and said we could drink again. We left on principle.

    11) Walk up to an attractive stranger way out of your league and buy him or her a drink -- done it a few times with mixed results, but the times it worked made it worth the times it didn't.

    12) Conspire an afterhours at your favorite bar -- it wasn't my favorite bar, so perhaps it shouldn't count, but it happened in Cleveland and the manager at a bar called Flanagan's opened the place up for us and let us have free reign until we were done.

    14) Buy, build or steal a home bar -- built a tiki bar custom for a house I was living in. Now I have no place for it and can't seem to sell it. Dammit all, I love that bar.

    16) Get drunk with your father -- my sister's wedding. Outstanding night.

    18) Visit the source of your favorite beer, wine or liquor -- used to go to the brewery every Friday for "samples."

    19) Drunkenly watch the sun come up with your best boosing buddies and a bottle -- on the beach. good times.

    24) Juice on the job -- when I used to work in a restaurant we'd pop a few bottle caps.

    30) Go on a fishing trip with your pals.

    33) Steal some booze -- reached right over the bar and left with a bottle in hand.

    36) Try absinthe -- that was rough.

    39) Make your own beer win or moonshine -- the beer was pretty damn good, too.

    So that's 16. Seems reasonable.

I can't believe I am about to admit what I have done on this list...it is quite scary!

    Drumroll please:

-Went on a bender (a few times)
-Drank a fifth of hard liquor by myself in one day (a few times)
-Danced in front of a large crowd, but not like a fool
-Spent a night in a drunk tank
-Bought a crowded bar a round (a few times)
-Extravagantly overtipped a few bartenders (now I know whythey are always extra nice and I am their favourite customer ;D )
-Walked up to attractive male strangers and buy them drinks (I am way too personable, my biggest fault)
-Conspired an afterhours at my favourite place (I knew the people who owned it)
-Bought a home bar, my best friend
    -Carried home by drinking buddies
-got drunk with my mother (so did many of my friends and they invited her to outings)
-Visited source of favourite beer (Keiths)
-Drunkenly watch sun come up with buddies and the bottle
-Sent many friends a bottle of good liquor (I like to spread cheer, what can I say?)
    -Learned traditional drinking songs
-Stole booze (okay this I am not proud of, but I was drunk when the illegal event took place)
-I currently make my own wine
-I have hit a dozen bars or more in one night more than once in my life (my trip to Toronto in the summer was the last time I did that)
-tried at least 100 different drinks
-split champagne, but not with a loved one....why do we need to limit it to "a honey"
-have in the past given homeless people/panhandlers 20 or 50 bucks depending on the time of year and how drunk I have gotten.
-Went to an AA meeting, not for me, but one of my friends needed a sponsor, so I went to help him kick his habit. That's what friends do.

Currently, I am looking to start my bio called Me and the Booze, a Love Story. Mind you most of the above events happened in my early twenties. So this story will centre on my drunken nights from ages 20-25.

Watch for it to come out in 2020 (It will take me this long to write about it ;D ;D ;D)
