    Good question. I guess if all you read is on this board, it's difficult to imagine that not each and every strait in the business is a dire one.

    While the situation here is not ideal, we are the only newspaper in our state that's been able to grow "same market" circulation in the last year. And we're in an acquistion mode for complementary weeklies and such in the region.

    We're in a position at this time to remain in a steady state staffwise.

    murphy---I liked your analogy of a pitching staff. Maybe Tony LaRussa and Terry Francona can get work as sports editors when they get canned two or three years from now for not being in the World Series every year.
