"For Better Or For Worse" to continue, characters to be "frozen in time"

Much better, I suppose, to just have characters disappear off the pages and have people forever wonder, "hey, whatever happened to Shermy and Patty and Frieda and Violet and Pig-Pen, etc."

You're not frozen. You're in reruns, Charlie Brown.

Her helicopter will collide with a light plane above some Canadian lake.

Anthony, Michael and the mechanic will search the lake for bodies. They'll return with the proof of the deaths.

The terms of her will will pit Michael against April in a battle for the company. Numerous innocent bystanders will feel the fallout.

Years later, someone claiming to be Elizabeth will surface with the same blood type, same dental records and same X-rays. But she'll disappear quickly when she's proved to be a fraud.

Mrs. Patterson will continue her relentless drive to be the biggest antique retailer in the province. Several deals will go awry. Then an angel will appear to show her what the world would be like if she had never lived.

In the final Sunday strip, she'll sit with a crossbow (the Canadian version of a .38 special) as the angel reappears in the mirror. Mr. Patterson returns from taking April to rehab, only to hear the sound of a bow firing. He looks into the room ...

Actually, Linus DID age in "Peanuts" -- he was introduced as Lucy's baby brother very early on in the strip, was a toddler for a couple years, and by the time the strip really hit its apex of popularity in the 1960s, was apparently about as old as all the other kids (although it was still made clear that Lucy was his OLDER sister).

Then, about the time the other characters like Schroeder, Violet, etc etc started disappearing, Rerun was born.

None of the other kids appeared to age.

Lucy caught Schroeder drilling Violet and had him snuffed.

Rerun disappeared, too. I suspect he knew where the bodies were buried.

Actually, all of the characters, including Snoopy, aged for a time. Then they stopped.

But Linus did either close the gap or jump a couple of grades.

    It's a final:

But ... not. Lynn Johnston is actually rewriting the strip from the beginning, starting today!

    How's that going to work?

Alternate storylines? "Lost" episodes or scenes?
