Here's who the voters get to haggle over:

Running backs Curtis Martin, Jerome Bettis and Marshall Faulk
    Cornerback Deion Sanders
    Offensive tackle Willie Roaf
Receivers Tim Brown, Andre Reed and Cris Carter
    Center Dermontti Dawson
Defensive ends Richard Dent, Charles Haley and Chris Doleman
    Defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy
    Tight end Shannon Sharpe
    NFL filmmaker Ed Sabol

Faulk, Roaf, Brown, Reed and Dent.

    Who is Hal?

I think Hal played for the Kansas City Chefs.

I think Faulk and Deion are locks. After that you've got a couple guys who are overdue to get in (Carter, Dawson). If Tim Brown goes in before Cris Carter, there's something wrong with the voting.
Cortez Kennedy is a finalist? Really? He was a great player, but a hall of famer?

Haley has to get in at some point. I think Martin and Bettis will get in, too, though I don't think any of those three are locks to get in this time around.

Almost criminal how Sabol isn't in already.

Good point. I was looking at the players, but Sabol should have been in long ago.

    Make Deion wait.

A cover corner and kick returner. Not an all-around corner like Mike Haynes or Night Train Lane.

Just to watch him throw a fit.

    Martin and Faulk. In.

Roaf and Dawson. Offensive linemen represent.

    Richard Dent's waited long enough.

God forbid what Haley might do in Canton, but outofplace is right. He has to get in at some point.

If you read Pearlman's book, maybe Scott Case can present Haley and then ... uh .... never mind.

I can't stand Deion Sanders. I would love to see the whiny meltdown if he wasn't voted in on the first try, but it won't happen and it shouldn't. I know he was nearly useless against the run, but he was so damn good in coverage.

Even if you hate Deion, he needs to go in first ballot. Martin and Bettis will get in eventually, but they can go in after Faulk.

Who was also probably the best cover corner of the 90s. Knocking him for that is like saying Barry Sanders shouldn't have been a first-ballot HOFer because he wasn't an integral part of the Lions' passing game.
