Despite job posting ("The Orlando Sentinel is seeking a Florida Sports Topic Manager, the editor who will manage the sports staffs in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando for all digital platforms and print") it appears that Tribune came to its senses and realized it made no sense to have one sports editor for two newspapers with limited common interests.

Sometimes, it takes folk who ride the little bus more time to reach their appointed destination.

So if they replaced one sports editor with two, will they still have a colleges editor?

Was out with someone from the S-S the other night and was surprised when she mentioned that they were going back to two sports editors. But at this point how much of both sections is done in Chicago?

All the desk work, right? So what does that leave for the SE?
Manage the writers and forward the daily budget, I guess.

I have two friends, both outstanding reporters, who have worked for/with Greg. One loves him thinks he's the greatest. The other just hates him.

Things are about to get really interesting down in South Florida.

WTF is that about? The guy just took the job. He's definitely more than qualified. I'm sure the same could be said about any editor, you are going to find those who like and those who dislike.

I never said he wasn't qualified.

I didn't say everybody hates him, I said one person did.

Greg has a very interesting reputation to say the least.

I think the bulk of the copy editing is still done in Orlando and South Florida, but I could be wrong.

To say the least, enlighten us on the reputation.

Do a search on his name on this site. I'll leave it at that...
