Flight to NY question

    Or instead of walking a block to pick up the D and having to deal with a few extra stops, just take the uptown 1 from Penn Station, get off at 59th Street/Columbus Circle and change over to the D there.

    I also second flying into Newark.

    You could also take the Cory Lidle Shuttle.

    If you're going to do Newark, triple-check that the connection from Manhattan to there runs at the ungodly hour you're hoping to leave.

    Fly into LaGuardia (which is closer and avoids the almost always troublesome Van Wyck), walk outside, grab a cab. It really isn't that difficult.

    Yup, you're right. It is in midtown. It's still a royal pain in the ass when compared to hopping on the subway at JFK.
