Ok I'm going to hell now. When the chute went flying (so to speak) all I could picture is the dude with Wile E. Coyote clutching as the rocket fell with their elongated heads being the last to fall. The LOLs were longer than what is considered polite.

Because to them the thought of living in a world where someone or something -- no matter how malevolent or unjust -- is pulling the strings is preferable to a random, chaotic universe that takes no notice of our existence. Michael Marshall has done a good bit of research into flat-earthers in the past few years if people want to explore this further. Suffice to say, it's a rare case where someone's belief in conspiracy theories stops at flat earth.

Why We Should Listen to Flat Earth Believers (Even Though They're Completely Wrong)

I guess Acme didn’t make a good enough rocket.

    Steam-powered rocket.

Why hasn’t NASA thought of that?
