Fixing a rift with your sources

    My policy with coaches/officials who state that they refuse to talk to the media is to ignore that they even said that and proceed about doing my job each day.

    If they keep up with it (rarely lasts even 24 hours) I would note in the paper they they refuse to speak to the paper. I would also inform their boss that the actions of the coach will impact the coverage.

    Guys who say they aren't going to talk to you always give in. It's the ones who don't say it and just don't talk to you that are the real problem.
