DD, we are not pining to see Sly escorted out the door, but this is his 4th year. This team has to show something. Alabama could be a potential terror with Nick Satan, thanks to Shula's deer-in-the-headlights tenure. Basically speaking, Alabama, indirectly, put themselves in a better spot.

Even if Croom was hired and not Shula at Bama, Saban would be the coach this year regardless.

Starkville isn't any different than Ames, or any other town with a college that has difficulty recruiting kids to play there. It is what it is.

Sly was an offensive coach, and the offense is the worst part of the Bulldogs. MSU is traditionally bad, but there's no excuse for that performance last night, one that is so common the last several years.

Hey, Charlie Weis does things that other coaches don't do. He studies game film! And he makes adjustments before halftime! And he spent a year preparing for the USC-Notre Dame game!

Six picks for the MSU qb? Whoo. Not good. MSU did hang tough in the first half and If they could have kept LSU under 20 and just kept running the ball things wouldn't have gotten out of hand.
Oregon State's qb situation isn't much better, but their line is very good on both sides of the ball. Should be a good one against Cincinnati.

My alma mater sucks and will get destroyed in its opener. That said, I'm still pumped. 88 minutes to kickoff.

People who say it's hard to get a feel for how good LSU is because they were playing Mississippi State should consider it's also hard to know how bad State is because they were playing LSU. I've seen LSU kick State's ass eight years in a row now, and Thursday's performance was the best for the Bulldogs vs. the Tigers in a few years. They look better, to me.

A year ago LSU kicked Arizona's ass 45-3, and skeptics said, "Yeah, but Arizona sucks." Later, Arizona beat Washington State and Cal in back-to-back games. Let's wait a month before we decide how bad Mississippi State is, or how good LSU is.

Well, for the latter we might only have to wait until Sept. 8, when Virginia Tech visits Tiger Stadium.

I'm going to have to sue Greg Robinson, Ty Willingham and the gangs at Syracuse and Washington.

All that orange and purple blew out the colors on my TV set.

Do not adjust your televisions... That IS hunter orange... and that IS a freshman QB making the 'Cuse his bi-yatch.
