Firing squad? Really?

They should let the victim's family decide whether the defendant is executed or kept alive in prison. That truly sounds like proper justice.

 

Proper would be allowing the victim's family to decide how the POS is executed.

 

Um, I'm certain they'd use rifles and not shotguns.

And I fail to see how this is any less humane than lethal injection or electrocution. The death this way isn't more painful than those, and it's even more instantaneous. I think feeling the needles insert and death gradually fill your veins would be worse than a quick bang.

I think any method of execution is horrifying, but I can absolutely see why someone would choose firing squad over the alternatives.

Rifles, shotguns...who gives a shit? I don't want 5 of any kind of gun pointed at my chest. But yeah, I can see why some people would choose that over other methods. I just wouldn't.

A shot to the back of the medulla Chinese-style would be better. When you shoot through the heart, the mind remains intact and the victim still has about 10 seconds of consciousness before the O2 supply runs out.

The shot wounds themselves are probably not painful — by the time the pain would arrive, you're dead.
