At least now he'll finally have time to read the book Billy Beane wrote about himself.

Funny that Miller's french fries story has become something of his signature tale, even though it's not true. Sort of like the Larry King/Sandy Koufax/Carvel story.

As a baseball announcer Joe Morgan was a helluva second baseman

Prediction: Joe will become Thom Brennaman's partner on the Fox B games -- or else replace the dynamic Ron Darling at TBS.

Doesn't Joe do the Giants as his day job?

Morgan AND Phillips? Who's next, Geithner? Bob Herbert? The chairman of the BCS?

Sorry to threadjack but the third graph contains one of my pet peeves: "earlier this year." Of course it was earlier this year. If it was later this year it wouldn't have happened yet.

Someone should have noted that earlier in this thread.

No, Miller is the primary pbp man on radio and over-the-air TV. So ESPN's loss is a gain for Giants fans ... we get him back on weekend broadcasts.

If Harold Reynolds can get a gig on MLB Network, there must be room for Morgan somewhere!
