There are also probably hundreds of sexual assaulters playing college football, too.

Yeah, I escaped. My best defense? I hate college football, don't watch it, and don't watch highlights.

That seemed to make me undesirable as a voter.

I didn't really think it did. I just happened to come across that when doing my research and figured I'd throw a beefcake photo the board's way.

BTW: Ian Johnson's the best-looking player in the WAC ;)

Okay, then. I shall now refer to him as Boise State running back Ian Johnson, the hottest player in the WAC, on first reference.

So I guess after consulting a map of Hawaii, you voted as you did?

Well, as one of three voters who put Florida at the top, I don't believe that any preseason poll should have the defending champion anywhere but No. 1. They can't take your crown until the next season actually begins, which this one has not.

Then what's the point of having a preseason poll? Wouldn't you just repeat the final one from the year before?

You're voting on what you think teams will accomplish this year. There is no crown you're handing out in the preseason. It's a poll.

I despise preseason polls. However, as an SportsJournalists.com College Football Poll voter, I am obligated to, you know, vote.

Technically, even when they start the season, no one will take the Gators' crown. What they won in 2006 will always be theirs, no one can ever take that. But no one's won anything in 2007, even the Gators.

Just curious, let's say Florida lost all 22 starters from a title team, you would still vote the Gators as preseason No. 1 just because?

I can think of one where it's not.

Vote alphabetically in the preseason. That'll show them.
