Finally found my classic QA with Jim Murray...

During the Indianapolis 500, Jim Murray came and talked to the staff of my high school paper. Our advisor specifically wanted me to meet him, but she also wanted it to be a surprise, so she didn't say anything in advance (even though, back then, I wouldn't have known who Murray was).

Without knowing he was coming to speak, I was absent that day. I never did meet him. I talked to his widow a few times after he died, but that's it.

    Missed opportunity.

Agreed. Mrbio is a bit annoying, but ultimately harmless. None of Sj's problems will be fixed by running him out of town.

Whatever. But posting his crap on the Journalism Board and claiming they have "scoops" in them is pure douchefluid. If he wants to post his crap and say here are these cute little boxes I do, OK. But claiming he breaks "scoops" really is an insult to our intelligence, and none of us, myself included, sets the bar especially high on that in the first place.

Why the anger? Biofile is just a light-hearted, non-traditional, tongue in cheek (at times) QA. Did you know Jim Murray once aspired to be a playwright or what the most painful moment of his career was? Those are, in a way, scoops. No need to get upset over this.

I'm not upset. Just bored. By the last 15-plus posts.

    Scoop:

    6.☆ Informal
a.the publication or broadcast of a news item before a competitor; beat
    b.such a news item
    c.current, esp. confidential, information

Not a news item, not current, not confidential, thus not scoops.
