I had a good dinner of grilled chops and come back to more great suggestions.

Metallica, Master of Puppets, whole album.

Metallica's cover of "Ecstacy of Gold" from the "We all love Ennio Moriccone" tribute album.

Led Zeppelin, Houses of the Holy, whole album.

    Dump the Aerosmith.

Guns 'n' Roses, Appetite for destruction, whole album.

K, didn't get Copperhead Road downloaded yet (will soon).

Got sidetracked by Rosanne Cash. Kings Record Shop is a must-have.

You have to have some Queen. And to whomever recommended Paramore, yes. They sound a lot like Evanescence (who is my favorite "modern" rock band).

You must have some Beatles on there, right?

And don't forget the Journey either. :)

you should have at least one song by each of the following bands/singers on your Ipod, with my suggestion, although each one has a ton of great stuff:

    - Springsteen (Thunder Road)
    - Old 97s (Big Brown Eyes)
    - Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers (Beautiful Disaster)
    - The Refreshments (Banditos)
    - The Pistoleros (Long Last Lonely Mile)
    - Waco Brothers (Walking On Hell's Roof Looking at the Flowers)
    - The Blasters (Marie, Marie)
    - Tift Merritt (Late Night Pilgrim)
    - Joe Ely (Settle for Love)
    - Dan Bern (Tiger Woods)
    - Son Volt (Windfall)
    - Josh Ritter (To the Dogs or Whomever)
    - Ramones (Sheena Is a Punk Rocker)

If you like girl singers, check out Rilo Kiley, a band fronted by Jenny Lewis. For that matter, check out her solo album as well, though it's more laid-back than the Rilo stuff.

And, while it has nothing to do with your particular tastes, i can't help but agree with Piotr. Everyone should own Appetite for Destruction. Everyone.

Try these four songs if you like Evanescene. I guarantee you'll end up buying the album.....

    Flyleaf "Breathe Today"
    Nightwish "Amaranth"
    Nightwish "The Kinslayer"
Within Temptation "What have you done" (So similar to Evanescene, you won't know what hit you)

And I, in turn, agree with you.
