There are PR guys out there whose lives would be great features, but that was not one of them...

So what's the BYH-Jay Horowitz story? Why the hate?

Back in '81, he refused to give a Mets media guide to L.A. columnist Bob Hunter, who carried BBWAA card No. 2.
Those of us out here wondered why a big-time team in a big-time city would have a joke of a PR guy.

Most of the PR guys for professional teams and most big-time college programs these days are dicks. That's changed considerably over the last decade plus.

Horwitz was a dick before it was trendy.

List of people to be gutted like a fish:
    1.) Sonner (last week: 1)
2.) Big Ragu (last week: 7)
    3.) Zeke (last week: 3)
    4.) IJAG (last week: 27)
    5.) A_QB (last week: 2)
    6.) spnited (last week: 4)

    :D :D

All I know is I've dealt with Horwitz exactly twice in my less-than-distinguished career.
    He was great both times.

Must have been looking out for a fellow Jew.

"Wow," said Casey Kasem, "some big jumps into the BYH Top 5. Be sure to tune in next week and see if Sonner can hang onto the No. 1 spot in the face of the Ragu-IJAG onslaught. Until then, keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars." :)

In fairness, he knew even then that that '81 Mets media guide was destined to be a collector's item. That was the one with Frank Taveras, Pat Zachry and Pete Falcone on the cover, right?
