I'm not sure who the victim is there? FIFA for getting less money? If Fox said that they will accept some sort of deal for moving WC 2022 to winter in exchange for getting the 2026 rights, I think that's fine.

I know nothing about soccer but I knew with certainty that FIFA was corrupt. But why is the US involved in this way? Can someone give a quick explanation?

I wondered the same thing initially. Apparently since U.S. dollars were used to bribe, it gives the U.S. jurisdiction under international treaty. Also, U.S. banks may have been indirectly involved in laundering.

According to the indictment, some of the alleged crimes were planned in the U.S. and did use U.S. banks. North-Central American federation headquarters are in Miami Beach.

Any truth to the rumours that upon arrest all six fell to the ground and pretended to be injured?

This is a good start. I hope Switzerland puts the board of Goldman Sachs in handcuffs tomorrow.

Stealing jokes from Jeffrey Toobin is never a good idea.

Saw that somewhere earlier, and it wasn't that funny then, either.
