Fetus found in the laundry

When I read this, I started to think about miscarriages. If you are just a couple of months along and start to miscarry, so long as you are physically OK otherwise, the doc will send you home to "pass" the baby. I know this is nothing like the size of the fetus mentioned in the story or the size of fetuses often found in strange places, but that would be torture to have to go home and wait for it to happen, especially if you can tell when you pass it.

Is there any chance this is a hospital error? It sounds as if the fetus had been delivered by medical personnel, given that the umbilical cord had been clamped. If someone was hasty in cleaning up the room, who knows?

I believe that is the case in this story.

That's what it sounds like to me.

Someone's in some deep shit when the bottom of this one is found.
