What especially makes the potential for rioting with a different wrinkle is the locale.

Ferguson is an extension of the north side of St. Louis. Rough place.

Clayton, where the grand jury is meeting (and the seat of government for St. Louis "County"), is the second-richest large suburb in the metro. It's very much "old money". I spent a lot of time walking those well-polished streets as a kid.

Ferguson and Clayton are eight miles apart.

Rioting in Ferguson will bring the usual ho-hum, "there they go burning down the checks cashed store". Rioting in Clayton will wake everyone the hell up.

Become a civil rights attorney specilzing in riots. Perhaps the riot version of ambulance chaser.

"(Reuters) - Hundreds of civil rights lawyers from across America are descending on Ferguson, Missouri as police and protesters prepare for a grand jury decision on whether to charge the officer who killed an unarmed black teenager in August."

Think the decision was delayed so the golf course could be cleared.

Prudent move to announce the verdict tonight at 7 pm Central, giving all of the workers in downtown Clayton the time to get the hell out of dodge.

And Radio Raheem to pump "Fight The Power" from his boombox.

It'll be the only thing missing.

Wonder if the grand jury tries to split the baby and charges Wilson with something less than murder, like negligent homicide. Doubt that helps.

Is there a wide range of charges available to the Grand Jury, say, anything from first-degree murder to reckless endangerment (or anything in between)? I'm wondering what the reaction might be if he's indicted but on a far-lesser charge.
