Yes. That "history" extends farther into the past than 1990.

The fact is Heyward had a very good year and probably is going to be a great player.
But there was nothing "historic" about it.

    You want more recent:

    A-Rod ... .358, .414, .613, 1.045 36 HR, 123 RBI

    Posey was more historic.

Do they win the WS without him?

Sure they do. They had Cody Ross, what more did they need?

Which has nothing to do with ROY voting

OK, do they get to the playoffs without him?

They were 26-22 when he came up.

Whether they win the World Series or even make the playoffs without Posey still does not make his season historic, either.
Two guys who had real good seasons were obviosuly the top 2 rookies in the NL. Both are going to be very good if not great players. But there is nothing historic about it.

Posey hit third and clean up on a team that won the World Series as a rookie.

I'm guessing that is a very, very short list.

Please tell me your definition of historic.

Something you see once every 20 or 30 years.

I would have guessed a Steeler first down.

Will anybody be talking about Posey's "great" performance 20 or 30 years from now? NO!
