Because middle aged white America does not want poor black kids to earn money off their talents.

It also has potential to ruin their entertainment, which is far more important than these kids making some money.

I'm curious if any HCs get canned, or are they cool as long as the NCAA doesn't start sniffing around? Would not be surprised to see an HC take a one-year suspension - so a school can keep the contract and the coach and feel they've taken a stand.
Hell, I'm really hoping players in the impacted programs get a free transfer out of it. Oregon State needs a point guard bad.

See, this is what you godless Canadians will never understand.

It's really about protecting the integrity and innate purity of student athleticism. If fans happen to derive some side enjoyment from their endeavors ...well, we'll gratefully accept it, but solely as inconsequential collateral beneficiaries. But, let there be no mistake, our true concern is to ensure these young men develop into fully rounded adults academically, morally and physically ...without this corrupting influence of yucky money.

That’s very Canadian of you to look out for others.

There's no way Sean Miller survives this.

This graf from the Miller story on ESPN detailing the charges against an agent pretty well sums up what the crimes the FBI is investigating.

It sounds like an indictment written by Jack McCoy.

Probably not, but per that ESPN story "If Miller is fired for cause, his contract is written in such a way that he would still receive more than 85 percent of the money he is owed through May 31, 2022."

    Jesus.

And this surprises you for what reason?

That's pretty unprecedented. "Fired for cause" typically means you get nothing.

It's why Pitino is currently suing Louisville.
